What is a BLUECARD?

The BLUECARD program seeks to ensure that employees understand their duty of care obligations. Employees competent at F1 level will have the diligence to seek information, procedure and policy from supervisors or employers.  BLUECARD does not replace site specific training or workplace training on safety, vehicle operations, cargo handling or specialised equipment.

Aligned to the National Competency Standard TLIF1001A "Follow Occupational Health and Safety Procedures" from the Transport and Logistics Training Package TL110, BLUECARD has been designed in response to the challenges faced by industry in working toward incorporating national competency standards within Transport and Distribution.

Objectives

The objective of BLUECARD training is to provide participants with knowledge and awareness of the Workl Health and Safety issues relevant to the transport industry, including roles and responsibilities of employees and employers.  BLUECARD is designed to produce attitude changes within the participants, compelling individuals to seek induction information and agree to read and abide by workplace policies and procedures, ultimately employing safer work practises.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Ensure they receive or provide site specific inductions
  • Follow procedures
  • Recognise and report hazards, incidents/accidents
  • Work safely
  • Understand the WHS Act 2011, WHS Regulations 2011 and Duty of Care.
  • Maintain diligence and understanding to follow company procedure.
  • Demonstrate general safety knowledge.
Course Content

  • Work health and safety responsibilities.
  • Potential hazards and remedial action.
  • Accident and incident emergency procedure.
  • Stress related factors and recommended strategies.
Duration of the Course

Half day program - approximately 4 hours

Both public and on site training available.  On site training for groups of 10-20 people per session.

A Statement of Attainment is issued to each participant on successful completion of the course.

A credit card sized BLUECARD will be presented to each successful participant.

Note:   EVIDENCE of IDENTITY (EOI) is required on the day of training
