TLIF4007 Implement and coordinate accident-emergency procedures

This Emergency or Evacuation Warden training is a one day session, designed for personnel who are appointed Emergency/Evacuation Wardens.  This will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to supervise an emergency evacuation.  The WHS Regulation 2017, states that if employees work at a fixed place of work, the employer must ensure that one or more persons are appointed and appropriately trained to oversee any such evacuation and, if appropriate, in the use of fire fighting equipment kept on site.

Course Objective

At the completion of this course, participants should:

  • know the dangers associated with fire
  • pre-plan for emergencies
  • define the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency
  • adopt safe work procedures when attempting to extinguish a contained fire in a room

Chief Wardens, Wardens and Deputies

  • conduct safe and effective evacuation from the premises

Course Aim

To provide instruction, demonstration and training in order that Wardens obtain the knowledge and expertise to enable them to effectively carry out their specific roles in emergency procedures in their designated areas

Course participants will acquire the information, skills and confidence to:

  • act responsibly in case of fire or other emergencies
  • ascertain the type of equipment best suited to contain and extinguish a fire
  • behave in the best interest of all concerned in an emergency
  • oversee the safe evacuation of the premises

Duration of the Course

Approximately 6 hours

Each participant receives theory and practical training, a training handbook, a Statement of Attainment and our Photo* Skills Card on successful completion of the course.


* A Skills Card will only be issued if suitable photos of participants are provided.

(Allowing extra time on the day, photos may be taken by the Trainer.)
